COVID-19 Vaccination for Eligible Adults
COVID-19 vaccinations are now available to adults identified by the JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) as being at highest risk of catching the disease and of suffering serious complication COVID-19. If you are eligible, a member of our team will be contacting you to book an appointment. We also require your consent for vaccination.
This vaccination will be free of charge and our highest priority is delivering the vaccines to eligible patients as soon as the vaccine becomes available.
Through vaccination of those at highest risk, we aim to help protect individuals from becoming unwell with the COVID-19 disease.
A leaflet on COVID-19 vaccination is on the following link – please click here to read
Please read the detailed guidance at:
During the vaccination delivery, we will maintain the range of measures we have in place to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19. Staff involved in administering the vaccine will be wearing personal protective equipment and will adhere to all infection prevention control measures.
Please click here to read, download and print your consent form. Failure to attend without a signed consent will result in us being unable to vaccinate you. If you are unable to download a consent form please collect one from your own GP surgery before the day of your appointment.
Dear Patients
We have an urgent situation with being able to complete some blood tests. This is caused by our supplier, Roche, being unable to deliver some chemicals needed for this process. This is a national problem.
We need to prioritise clinically urgent tests. This means that if you are having a regular blood test, it may be delayed. We are very sorry about this.
If you are worried and you have been told your blood test is urgent, please contact the person who referred you, your GP or your Consultant.
Managing queries will mean that your Practice or Hospital team is busier than ever – please be as patient as possible – they will be working incredibly hard to support you.
National teams are working with Roche to sort this problem out and we will keep everyone updated as the situation changes.
We do understand that this may worry you and is very inconvenient, so please do get in touch with our PALS team if you wish to discuss this further. Their number is: 0800 389 6819
Kind regards
Your Practice and Clinical Commissioning Team

COVID-19 update – 29th October 2020
Due to the increase in local COVID-19 cases, please only attend the surgery if you have a pre-arranged appointment or to pick up medication. We currently have members of our team off work as a result of being unwell or self-isolating – this clearly affects our ability to maintain our service. Please be patient with staff who are doing their very best.
Contacting Us
Our staff are working very hard to answer phone calls but we are experiencing queues at peak times. To ensure those most in need can speak to us quickly, please only call the surgery if it is an urgent matter.
Non-urgent queries can be emailed to our reception team at wsccg.guildhallreception@nhs.net and you will receive a response within 7 days.
Appointments
Currently all appointments with a GP are being triaged by telephone in the first instance. Please be assured that you will be offered a face-to-face appointment should you need to be seen.
Nurse appointments are being booked in the normal way, although some elements of annual review checks will take place via telephone to reduce the length of time you will need to spend in the practice.
If you have been allocated a time for a face to face appointment please do not arrive too early for the appointment – you will be asked to wait in your car or outside the building. A waiting room full of patients places patients and staff at risk. Some patients coming to the surgery will have underlying health conditions that place them at high risk and they shouldn’t be sharing a waiting room with other, potentially infectious, patients.
All patients attending the surgery will be screened for COVID symptoms, including having a temperature check, and will be asked to leave the building should a symptom be present. If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) please stay at home and manage your illness there. If you are getting worse, you should contact 111 – PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY.
Medication Requests
We are receiving very large numbers of requests for medication – much more than we would normally expect. Many of the requests are a long way ahead of when they are due. Please DO NOT order medication too soon and please do not stockpile. Patients who are ordering too much or too early are putting the health of others at risk.
We are receiving a lot of medication requests on paper – we want to reduce that as much as possible to protect our staff. We would prefer online requests – obviously our staff shortages mean that answering the phone to take medication requests will take them away from other tasks.
Thank you for your understanding at this very difficult time.
